Last week while we were driving around town, Harlo and I said the same word at the exact same time.

“Jinx! You owe me a swig!” I said – of course the girls wanted to know all about this!

For the rest of the day, they tried to say the same word at the same time so they could both say “Jinx!” The thing about Jinx though, is that it works better when it’s spontaneous. šŸ˜‰

The other day, Stella came into my office while Grae was asleep and whispered a request to me. Ā As she headedĀ out the door, we both blew an air kiss to each other at the same exact time. Ā I saw her face light up, “jinx!” She excitedly whispered, “you owe me a lemonade.” Followed by an excited giggle as she skipped back down the hall.

These moments – these tiny, totally insignificant moments Ā – are what make my life as a mother an absolute delight.

I am constantly in awe at how much I enjoy my children. Ā How I delight in even the smallest things, like them learning when to properly jinx! Ā Quite often (daily) I get told how much I neeeeeed a boy, and I’m sure boys are so wonderful and if I ever have a son, I will be saying the same thing to mothers with girls… BUT, here in my house full of little girl magic, the giggles, the rope jumping, the barbies, the dress ups, the fake names, the makeup, the sweet and tender hearts… I sure feel like I have it all. Ā I don’t feel like I stand in need of a single thing.

I hope they know that.
