Mr. Miller was away last week on the deer hunt.

Over the years, I have learned to love the deer hunt.  Nothing quite kicks off fall for me like a big, scruffy man coming home to a warm bed after a few long days in the mountains.  Mr. Miller grows his beard one time a year and it’s one of my favorite times! That guy is HANDSOME, I tell you what.

Usually I stay home and have girls nights every night, but this year we decided to shake things up with a girls trip to visit my sisters in Salt Lake.  WHAT a good idea it turned out to be.  The girls had a blast with their cousins and I enjoyed some very quality sister-time.  We picked up Grandma and hit the road and I let the girls skip a few days of school.  It’s more fun if you’re just a teensy rebellious, don’t you think?  No? Just me? Okay, moving on…

One of my favorite parts of Salt Lake is my nephew, Brakken.  He is in junior high now and plays competitive soccer and is so busy he can barely make time to come visit anymore.  I keep worrying that as the years tick by, he will suddenly become embarrassed to kiss his aunt hello and play with his baby girl cousins.  To my happy surprise, that year has not come yet.  Brak and I have always had a special bond and it was so fun having some time together.

Grae also took a quick liking to Brakken.  They have this oldest and youngest grand-baby bond and it melts my mama/auntie heart.

Mostly we shopped, ran around with cousins, made huge messes everywhere (oh cousin life is a good life!), and missed the man of this house like crazy.
I’m not sure who missed B most while we were away, but Grae had some major smiles for him when he returned that made me think she did.

My sister Chelsea had a stray cat leave kittens under her shed.  She’s been feeding them with bottles since the mama hasn’t been around.  I walked right into this disaster, I should have seen it coming.  I got the Chelsea’s just after the girls and they both yelled out “AUNT CHELSEA SAID WE CAN KEEP THEM!” (thanks sis!)

I talked to Brady and he didn’t give me a firm “NO.”…. “The last thing we need is a cat, but its up to you.” was the actual verbiage, if I remember right.  So guess what?

Sister kitties for my sister girls!

When he said, “YOU BROUGHT HOME TWO CATS?”  All I could say is “You’re lucky it wasn’t 3!” I mean, who was I going to tell to leave their kitty and who could keep theirs?  We’re lucky
Grae can’t talk. Oh Mercy.. pray for us!

AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS GOOD AND GREEN, PLEASE DON’T TELL ME IF YOU HAVE A BABY ANIMAL ANYWHERE THAT NEEDS A HOME!

Welcome home, Mr. Miller (to the Casa De Kitten)! We sure missed you!
