I’m going to be really honest and tell you it’s been hard for me to do fashion friday posts since my miscarriage. I had planned on having maternity posts up this spring, so I had to halt those plans and rework some new ones. Also, I gained an easy 15 lbs during that pregnancy and it has not come off as gracefully as my last pregnancies. So, I’ve been avoiding a bit of both sides. I need to STOP this though. I need to embrace this body of mine in all walks of life, and if that means showcasing it at 10 lbs more than my regular weight.. I’m going to do it. This might not be my “normal” weight, but it is my weight right now – and that’s okay! As women, our body changes in all seasons of life and I’m not going to skip over some important seasons because I liked my body better in the last. So here I am.. embracing it all. In teal skinnies. I thought I’d go ahead and rip the band-aid off. 😉
ANYWAY, I have a new t-shirt that I’m obsessed with. Also, I’ll tell you now that I’m dressed in head-to-toe (almost) Old Navy today, so let’s clear that up real quick.
You guys, Old Navy is really killin’ it these days. Their new vintage tee has my heart racing. It is everything I love in a t-shirt… and you know I love a great t-shirt. Call me crazy, but I prefer an Old Navy shirt to a Gap one any day of the week. They fit better, wash WAY better and are always cheaper. My other favorite that I posted about a few weeks ago is still on of my go-to’s, but I heard that it wasn’t the best on the smaller busted variety. If you have a smaller upper frame, I think you will love this option. No one can pull off a great v-neck like like a small upper body. I usually shy away from v-necks because I have a really short decolletage, but even I like these. So I think it’s a win from the A’s to DD’s. 😉
They’ve got a longer sleeve which is much more flattering on the arms, it’s tighter in the shoulder/bust area, but flows on the waist like I like. It’s also long enough to hit my upper thigh, but short enough to tuck in the front which pulls a look together. All in all.. it’s just the perfect tee. One I’ll be sporting all summer long.
And these teal cropped pants? How cute are they? Old Navy really surprised me with these little gems.
My girls love when we have to take pictures for fashion friday.. they can never resist jumping in one or two. 🙂

YAY!!! I love this post!! YOU are totally right about embracing our bodies!! I have had the hardest time accepting my body because I too have not lost that last 10lbs from having my son, and that was over 2 years ago!! Maybe I’ve just been a bit lazy I guess, or not wanting to diet, but it’s still hard “embracing” your body! So thank you, this post is just what I need to hear!! Makes me more confident of my outfit post too!
ps: You look AMAZING & GORGEOUS by the way!!

I’m finding that we’re the only ones who notice that “last 10 lbs” on ourselves and no one else really does. It’s silly the expectations we have for ourselves, isn’t it?? Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself to love me through it all. I can never figure out why that’s so hard to do. So glad I’m not alone though!
And you have nothing to worry about! You ROCK those outfit posts! 🙂
