As a mother, my go-to items are:

a. Sweats

b. t-shirt and jeans.

Why is that we mothers think there is nothing else to wear?  I am constantly pulling myself out of the jeans and t-shirt rut.

I feel frumpy, I feel so un-sexy, I feel like a total… mom.  And not in the good fill-your-heart way, the bad let-yourself-go way.  It is easy to do though, and I like easy.

You know what else is super easy?  Dressing up that jeans and t-shirt look with a few accessories.

It will take you from frumpy, i-don’t-care-about-my-looks mom, to sassy, boho-chic-those-teens-got-nothin-on-me mom.

repeat offender headband: target | cream shirt: old navy | gold chain necklace: urban outfitters | belt: hand-me-down from my mother-in-law. | rings: collected over the years.

I added a headband, necklace and a belt.  Viola!!

Accessories are a mom’s best friend, I tell you what.

A bonus to accessorizing is that you don’t have to spend a fortune, or buy a bunch of clothes to mix up your look.  Something that’s important to me right now with living simply.  I love that I can wear this shirt and jeans with a blazer and scarf and have a completely different look.  Two outfits in one? Yes please!

Is this outfit the most fashionable thing ever?  Um.. no.  But did it make me feel a little more put together than a plain jeans and T would have?  Absolutely.
