On Monday night we headed down to the Johnson Family Farm in Santa Clara for some good ol’ “punky” patchin’. (As Stella says)

Are you sick of pumpkin patch pictures by now?

No?  Good.  Me either.

Luckily for us, the johnson family farm is just a few houses down from Papa and Nana’s house, so we got to meet up with our cousins first and made it a whole family affair.  Double lucky for us, Grammy and Grandpa live right near Nana and Papa, so they were able to come out to!

My Stella girl, doin’ what she does best!

Feeding the chickens out of my hand was a first.. the girls would act like they wanted to then freak out as soon as the chickens got too close and throw all their seed. ha! Hopefully they get used to it, because I almost have the Mr. talked into getting some.  Fresh eggs, people! That’s all I’m sayin’.

They did take a liking to feeding the sheep, though.

I have been saying how I want chickens in the backyard, and when we came upon this gigantic pig, Harlo said, “mom, we shouldn’t get a pig.  That would be serious.  It would break our house.”
So my idea of a farm life is limited… but I’ll still take the chickens.

Stella liked the idea of climbing up on the stable until she realized that an actual horse was just on the other side… then the panic set in.  Luckily Harlo was there to give moral support.

And sweet ol’ Mr. Ed took a liking to Mr. Miller.

Grammy lubbins at the farm

This picture makes me laugh everytime.. such a classic!

And we got to enjoy such a beautiful sunset while we were there! Seriously gorge.

So consider yourself officially punky patched over here.
