We have had such a fun weekend with family in town.

We love having visitors here!  We’re are being extra spoiled this month with fun visitors.  If you don’t hear from me a lot this week, assume I’m out lunching with sisters and friends, taking our kids to the park and going out for frozen yogurt.  It’s a charmed life, I tell you.  The girls like visitors even more than I do, and you can see why.

The downside of visitors, though, is when they go home.  Our sweet Auntie has been here this weekend.  All is right in the world when Auntie is here.  She left early, early this morning before the girls were up and they were sad little ladies to wake up to an empty couch.  Harlo had a good cry about how the world seemed so unfair this morning.  To her four-year-old sweet mind, it just seems impossible to live two full states away from her beloved Auntie.  I held her while she cried and told her it was okay to feel sad, that I was sad that Auntie left too, but that we’re so lucky to have family that loves us so much and comes to visit us often.   I reminded her that we can go to California to visit Auntie anytime we want and that seemed to soothe her little soul.  A promised trip to California can do wonders for a woman, even of the littlest variety, I tell you what.

I also reminded her that our other aunt and cousins still have a few days to their trip, so the fun doesn’t have to end just yet.

Right now I am speeding to finish this post so I can go and show my girls that life really isn’t as unfair as it sometimes seems.

I hope you’re learning that lesson on this beautiful Tuesday, too.

xoxo
