This weekend was a special weekend for our family, the Dixie Round-Up was in town.  It’s our local rodeo and every year for over 20 years the Miller crew has gone and had the same reserved seating.  For us, rodeo weekend is right up there with Christmas and Thanksgiving.  Brady and I have gone every year that we’ve been together, and our kids have never missed one in their lives.  We hope to carry on this tradition forever.

This year was especially fun, though, because my sister-in-law, Amy (Brady’s sister), was in charge of her school’s float in the parade, so my girls got to join in on the fun.  This was their very first parade and it was nothing short of amazing for them.  For the whole day, they practiced their princess waves for the parade.  As soon as the parade started, their little hands never stopped a wavin’!

After the parade, we headed to the Rodeo.  It did not disappoint this year!  The rodeo was great, and at the end they had a little motocross show for the finale.  It was super fun to watch (made me completely nervous, but everyone else enjoyed it).  On the way home Stella said, “Those motorcycles were making me dizzy!” ha.
She also said, “The ‘radio’ is so much fun, I can’t even believe it!”

The Millers had a few tickets, so Grammy and Grandpa snagged them and came along!  The girls didn’t know what to do with themselves with two sets of grandparents together at the same time, plus their cousins.
Stella passed out for an hour and a half during the rodeo.  We were trying to decide if we should wake her or let her sleep til we got home.  She woke up just at the end of the rodeo so we were stressing she would be up all night! We got home, and she settled right back down to bed.  That has never, ever happened before.  She must have been so worn out!

We had such a good time!  Sometimes I’m overwhelmed by how lucky we are to have the family we do.  Brady’s mom is always making sure we get together often and have these family traditions for us and our children to enjoy.  My girls have so many aunts and uncles and cousins on both sides that adore them, and have more grandparents to love them than any kids I know.
We are immensely blessed with family and I couldn’t be more thrilled for my children to grow up surrounded by all these amazing people.

We’re counting down the days til next year!
