I have been trying to stretch outside of my comfort zone in my wardrobe, and I must say it’s been a fun experiment.  We went to Vegas last weekend and everything I bought was just on the verge of, “can I pull this off?” and I think that’s a good place to be.  I love bold colors and prints and decorate my house with them everywhere.. but when I look at my closet, I notice I have a lot of solid pieces – especially shirts – and that needed to change.  I love a good solid piece that I can accessorize, but for now I’m focusing on incorporating prints into the mix because those can be mixed and matched different ways too.

Everything I wear, I need it to be comfortable enough to chase kids, play on the floor and climb in and out of things if need be (you never know).  I also like a pinch of funk to showcase some personality.  I think a lot of times we think we can’t look cute, but also be comfortable and realistic about the clothes we wear as moms.  It’s not true.  We can look fab AND be comfortable enough to run errands all day with two toddlers – which, let’s be honest, should be considered an Olympic event.

The bottom line, your outfit should be a reflection of who you are.  No circumstances should sacrifice that.  I may not waltz around in pumps anymore, but I make the most of that sandal. 😉
