This weekend we took the little ladies to Disney Princesses on Ice.  I was basically peeing my pants over the title alone.  I knew my girls were going to love it.  We got our tickets for Christmas and anxiously awaited the few weeks until we could go.

For weeks we talked about going to see the princesses on ice and both the girls were so excited they could barely sleep the night before.

And somewhere around 3am, my poor Stelly woke up with the pukes.  And again at 6, and again at 7:45… All night I prayed that she would be okay to go to the show.  The weirdest part was that she had no fever, didn’t act listless, just her normal silly self besides the throwing up.

In the morning we kept going back and forth whether I should stay home with her, whether we should all stay home, whether we should still go… I was at a loss.  Every time she would throw up, she would cry, “I want to go see the princesses!  I don’t want to stay home.”  Breaking her mama’s heart in pieces.

After hours of prayer, weighing pros and cons with my husband, and a pep talk from my mom, we decided to load the diaper bag full of extra outfits, bring the throw-up bowl, pack the sani wipes and hit the road.  I hated the thought of taking my sick baby anywhere, but even more, I hated the idea of her missing the princess show we’ve all been so excited about.

At the end of the day, I think we made the right decision.  My girls loved the show so much.  It was so magical!   Both of them haven’t stopped talking about it all weekend.

I think sometimes being a good parent is knowing when to break the rules.

When Princesses are involved, for me it’s a game changer.

I hope you all had a great weekend!
