Tomorrow, my sweet little Harlo turns four years old.  This weekend we had a party to celebrate.

When planning out what to do for her birthday, I decided to simply ask her.  “Harlo, would you want to go somewhere for your birthday? Like California, or would you rather have a party?”  She chose a party.  Then I asked, “What about having a cake decorating party, a purple party, or… ” and she said, “I just want a tea party where everyone dresses super fancy!”

And that’s what we had.

I love birthdays so much.  I think it’s one of the funnest part of being a mom.  For her party this year I decided to keep it really simple and small so I could enjoy the day with my little lady.  She chose every detail from what we should eat, to how we should decorate.  It was perfect!

It was a birthday brunch, so we had a yogurt bar with fancy cups and toppings, and donuts and banana cupcakes for dessert. 🙂

Harlo loves all things fancy and was super excited about the flowers for her party.

We still can’t believe we have a four-year-old! (tomorrow

Some of the fabulous party guests…

an impromptu dance party to make it a real Miller party.

 This lady is loved.

Happiest party day to my sweet little girl! I hope the day was everything you could have wished for!

xoxo, Mommy

As I was setting up for my little one’s birthday, as we sang happy birthday and I delivered her cake, as I watched her excitement and joy through the day, I couldn’t help but think of the 2o mothers who will never have a chance to celebrate another birthday of their little one in this life.  My heart is so heavy and saddened for the families of the horrible tragedy in Newtown.  I pray for their peace, I pray for love, I pray for a better world.  I know those sweet babies are in such a beautiful place and look forward to the day they’ll be reunited with their families again.

Forever in our hearts. xo
