It’s Fashion Friday!

What’s all the rage with long hair?  Sometimes I ask myself this.  It’s heavy and hot and I pretty much have the choice of two hairstyles, up in a bun or down.  That pretty much sums it up.

I’m not a very good short hair person, although I’ve been known to rock the bob a few years of my life.. they weren’t the prettiest years, I can assure you.

I love finding hairstyles for long hair.  When I found the hippie halo on Reagan’s blog, I knew I had myself a staple summer do.  And it’s proven to carry me through fall as well.
I’ve been asked how I make it stay.. here’s a few tips. The headband matters.  Some headbands stay better than others.  Reagan uses Emi-Jay for the best results, I’ve liked these target leather headbands.  They don’t slip around in my hair and that’s the trick.  I’ve used bobbypins on either side to secure the headband and keep my hair wrapped, but like today I’ve kind of embraced the messyness of it, so the hippie halo definitely does not have to be perfect.  I feel like the messy adds to it.  So tighter, non-slip headband, bobby pins if needed, and anti-perfectionism.  You’ve got yourself a great hippie combination.

Chambray: Old Navy | Coral tank: Old Navy
Grey Skinnies: American Eagle | Necklace:  C to Z boutique
Headband: Target

Like my new grey skinnies?  I love American Eagle jeans for a few reasons.  They fit me well, they’re decent priced and if you have a coupon they’re downright cheap!  Sign up for their email list and they’ll send 20% and 30% off coupons quite a bit.  Bonus for me is that I love 77kids for my girls and they’re an american eagle company, so I can use the coupons for me and for them.  I’ll do a post on 77kids for the girls soon because I’m downright head-over-heels for them.

I hear a lot of moms say, “I feel like I don’t even have a style.. I don’t even know what I like!”  And believe me, it’s easy to fall into that rut.  I come in and out of it I feel like.  But sometimes, you just got to try stuff out.  The hippie halo seemed bold at first, but I tried it and knew I liked it, so that was my style.  Your style is anything you like.  You don’t have to fit a certain category.  Layer things together, add accessories, try new hairstyles.. Fashion Friday has been such a fun project for me  and I hope you’ll all join in!  Share your fashion friday in the comments or tag me on insta! @cassmiller
