We had a wonderful fourth of July.  This holiday is up on my top three, for sure.  We have been in California the last few years, and I will say that Utah does the 4th better than anywhere else I know! Nothing like celebrating America’s Birthday in your home town. 🙂

We actually started our activities on Friday night at the Downtown street festival, GeorgeFest.  This event started in our city last month and it is so much fun! I hope it stays forever.  We love downtown St. George, and love that all the things happen right down here close by.  We had a great night at the festival, it was the perfect way to kick off the holiday weekend!

That hunk on the left pushing a baby lady in the stroller… all the heart eyes!

The girls soaked up all the festivities they offered!  Such a good night.

We woke up early and made it to the 8am parade.  If you know us, you know that we are not particularly morning people (children included) and this would be the FIRST time we make it to the 4th of July parade… Ugh! It was worth it though, and we hope to make it a tradition. (I am actually working on making myself become a morning person! Anyone have any tips??)

We enjoyed the parade with our little family of 5, and we were able to watch Grandma and Grandpa pass by with the Moto Zoo ATV’s.  Awesome!  My girls think they’re pretty much famous because of that! They also quite enjoyed the royalty floats – REAL PRINCESSES – I wish you could have seen Stella’s face beaming when she locked eyes with Miss Washington County and exchanged a wave… Few things make me cry in this world, and that is one of them!

Mr. Miller teased me about my outfit being “too festive” and joked we should all hop in the parade.
I however, thought my ensemble was cute, and wore it proudly for the entirety of the day.  😉

We strolled around downtown at the park, took a nice mid-day drive, had a family nap and finished up the night with good friends in our neighborhood, delicious BBQ, sparklers and the city fireworks just overhead.
Both girls were brave enough to hold their own sparkler this year!

 It was the perfect day.

God Bless America!
