We had a magical time at the cabin for Thanksgiving.  There was a good amount of snow, just perfect for sledding and tubing the day away with cousins.  We only stayed over one night and the girls have been begging to go back ever since.  I think Thanksgiving might be their new favorite holiday. 😉 We had a delicious dinner cooked by all the moms in the family and the dads were busy with the kids while we were cooking away.. the only down side to this is we didn’t get any sledding/tubing pictures!   At least I snagged these few gems before they scurried off.

We spent the rest of the long weekend getting our house ready for Christmas.  Harlo lives for decorating for the holidays.  She has made each grandparent promise they would NOT put their tree up without her.  She has been making her rounds to each family’s house to help decorate.  She enjoyed every last minute of the tedious job of putting Christmas lights up (standing near the ladder for moral support) and has told every person she could tell that we have lights on our house.

Speaking of lights, we have a battle in our marriage on white vs. colored lights.  I grew up with white ONLY and Brady grew up with colored – always!  Colored doesn’t feel like Christmas to me, but now white doesn’t feel like Christmas to him.  We have the debate every single year.  This year we decided to compromise on white and red.  I can do colored lights if they’re Christmas colors, but seriously – blue and orange?  In what world does that say Christmas?!  The red and white added a nice touch though and  I’m happy to be raising my kids with a more diverse idea of what Christmas lights should be like. 😉

I was not quite ready for our weekend to be over, but alas, Monday came.  We spruced it up with donuts this morning before we were scurried off to our busy days.

I hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you’re now feeling the holiday cheer!

xoxo
