At this time of year, I am always anticipating the arrival of January.  I love making goals both with my business and my personal life and January is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

I am just wrapping my busy season of photography and I have been so blessed by many of you this year hiring me for your photography needs.  I have learned so much this year and I’m looking forward to what next year holds for me.

One downside to this time of year, that I swear every year I wont do, but every year I still struggle, is not photographing my own family.  When I am shooting and editing nearly every day of the week, it seems almost painful to bring my camera out and add to my work load.  I know logically, it’s not the same. I should always be shooting my own family, but busy season after busy season, I don’t keep up like I want to.

I can’t tell you what a blessing instagram/my iphone has been.  If we’re friends on instagram you know that it’s all about my family life. (and if we’re not friends on instagram, we should be! @cassmiller)  I always rest assured that if I don’t have my girls up on the main screen, I can always count on my instas.  Maybe I shouldn’t rely on instagram for photographs of my family.. hopefully next year things will change.. but at this time of year, I do.  And for now, I’m okay with that.

Next year I’m hoping to create a lot more time to work on my own stuff.  I can’t wait.
