On December 21, at 4.5 months old, Stella got her very first ever prick of a needle. Yes, we started shots.
Luckily, by starting at 4 months we were able to get some cushion on those leggies:

She honestly was such a champ! way better than I had imagined. Harlo’s first shots I cried and cried about, but Stella barely cried at all. She didn’t start until the 3rd and final shot and I just started feeding her right then so she focused on that rather than the shots, I guess. She did so well! She was all smiles by the time we left. šŸ™‚

Stella is at such a fun little stage right now.
I forget it just gets funner by the day.
She still loves to eat.
She loves Harlo more by the day.
So far, we honestly have not had one bad “sister” day.
knock on wood.
But I’m so shocked how well both our girls adjusted to eachother.
Harlo talks to Stel all the time and Stella loves it!
I can tell she’s getting more responsive to Harlo’s talking,
Which Harlo loves so she talks to her more,
which I love.
It’s a glorious thing.
She rolls back to front now.
I hate to admit that she’s not down on the floor that often so I was surprised she did it,
She’s actually been doing it for a while but it’s always been on my bed so I think it didn’t actually count quite yet.
But while she was helping wrap presents I finally did put her on the floor and she rolled all over the place!
It’s like she’s known how forever.
So we do put her down at least once a day now.
She rolls and wiggles ALL over and usually wiggles right out of her pants.
Harlo thinks it’s hilarious.
I put her down awake most all the time.
Now that she’s eating rice cereal, I feed her that first at her night feeding,
then I nurse her.
She usually gets full off the rice cereal
(she eats two bowls almost every night!)
So she’ll nurse for a minute then stop and wiggles to let me know she’s ready.
I put her in her bed and that’s the end of that.
The last couple nights she’s waken up at 5ish and I have just kept her in my bed,
Our schedule’s been a bit off though, so I hope that’s why.
Sometimes she wakes up around 3ish and talks for a minute,
then I hear her sucking her fingers through the monitor,
and she falls back to sleep.
Harlo had a fussy stage between 2-4 months and I was most nervous about that age with this baby.
I just realized last week that age had come and gone with no problem at all.
I am so glad my girls came in the order they did!
Stella is a little dare devil.
She loves when we hold her up high then let her free fall (obviously not free fall, we’re holding on, but it feels that way to her) she giggles and giggles and giggles!
She still loves mirrors and always tries to grab at herself.
She gives kisses,
or rather attacks your face if you get close enough.
my favorite. thing. ever.
well, right up there with freshly tubbied babies in a towel..
She LOVES the tubby;
just splashes away.
She loves the sound of Daddy’s voice.
She has not said any sort of words yet,
but thinks it’s hilarious when I say “mamamama” to her.
She’s gotten to be just a smidge of a mommy’s girl, though.
At the peace gardens a few weeks ago I handed her off to an unfamiliar face and she had a meltdown.
I don’t know what it was, but she was not havin’ that.
It happened again a few days after but I can’t quite remember exactly where/who it was.
Since then I’ve tried to let other people hold her more often and she’s been fine.
But we can tell she likes this Mama of hers.
She has the cutest cry ever.
I almost want to just watch her sweet pouty lip than give her what she wants to make it stop,
but of course I can’t do that for long.
It’s seriously the cutest thing ever, though.
It’s such a girly little cry.
Her two fingers are almost always in her mouth
(pointer and middle)
She prefers her right hand, but if its’ busy holding something she’ll such the left.
She loves this little lamby toy that came with one of Harlo’s birthday presents.
Harlo hates it because it “baaaaaah”‘s, so it works perfectly.
Stella smiles everytime it “baaaaah”s.
She just holds onto it and attacks/kisses it.
Dr. Marsden said “she’s one of those freak of nature kids that can do all this physical stuff without even trying. And she’s good!”
I’m so excited to see when she’ll start talking/crawling/sitting up/walking,
I’m sure it will be so different from how her sister did it and that stuff just fascinates me.
I never want to compare my girls to eachother,
but I love how different sisters can be.
It will forever boggle my mind.
People always comment on how cute she is,
How smiley she is,
How nice she is.
I know I should always just say “thank you,”
but I always feel like saying “I know! Isn’t it crazy?!”
I feel like I’m just as shocked or more than them and I’m her mom.
But seriously, y’all. I’ve never seen anything like it.
She is so, so, SO easy to love.
