This week has been a busy one, but with so many shining examples of a good life sprinkled in. I always say that I really thrive in the slower, calm, ordinary days, but I have found that I am extended grace in sweet little moments when my days get busy and I am feeling like my head is spinning.
On Tuesday, I got a very sad call from my little Harlo at school. She had forgot her backpack in the car when I dropped her off and I hadn’t even noticed. Her backpack had her lunch in it, and that is just the kind of thing that would leave my sweet sister girl in a world of stress. I told her I’d rush it right over. (And felt so so so grateful I could hop in my car as a stay at home mom to do so. What a blessing!) When I got there, she melted back into a puddle and wanted to go home instead. So, I checked my darling first grader out of school to calm her uneasy soul. There is so much time in this life to feel stressed – I don’t believe first grade is one of those times. As soon as she opened the van door and heard the chorus of sisters saying “Harlo! Yay! Harlo’s home!”, her frown was turned right side round. It was an easy fix, and one I’m grateful I could provide. We ate her lunch in the backyard while the sun was shining and the girls played on their new Ezy Rollers. It was exactly what we all needed.
